Workshop Will Focus On Self-Worth, Solutions
“Body Talk” is the title of an eight-hour workshop Saturday at Gonzaga University’s Schoenberg Center, sponsored by the Empowerment Group of Spokane.
The session will be led by Jamie Cox, nationally recognized for his cutting-edged, interactive communication workshops. The seminar is to facilitate personal development through a technique called “Dramedy.”
Participants will learn how to acquire effective living skills by ridding themselves of negative feelings, finding positive solutions and increasing self-worth.
“Body Talk” is a high-energy workshop, said to be both productive and fun.
Lunch will be served and supplies will be provided.

Adolescent support group
Holy Family Hospital will sponsor a free support group for adolescents whose parents suffer from chronic illness. Sessions will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m., starting next Monday and continuing each consecutive Monday through August.

A breast cancer support group, sponsored by Holy Family Hospital, will meet Mondays during August, beginning next week, at 7 p.m. at Spokane Oncology, 5719 N. Lidgerwood.
Sandy Quinn, a certified mental health professional, will lead the group.

Childbirth classes
The Health and Resource Center, 44 W. 6th, at Sacred Heart Medical Center is launching four classes which focus on child birth this week:
7:30 p.m. Tuesday: Birth Place Tour.
7 p.m. Wednesday: Prepared Childbirth class meets.
6:30 p.m. Thursday: Baby Care Basics.
7:30 p.m. Friday: Natural Family Planning class meets.

Pre-natal yoga
Group Health Northwest will offer “Pre-Natal Yoga” to pregnant mothers beginning Wednesday at 11:30 p.m. at the Many Hearts Center, 519 Waverly Place. Other sessions will be Aug. 9, 23 and 30.
