Chuck Ricevuto Chosen Ewu’s Teacher Of Month

Compiled By Mary Beth Donelan

Chuck Ricevuto, a teacher at Oroville (Wash.) High School, has been selected as Eastern Washington University’s Teacher of the Month for April.

In the eight years EWU has operated the program, the teacher was nominated by a current or recent student. Ricevuto, though, was nominated by Robert Burks, a 1985 graduate of Oroville High School and an officer with the Wilbur Police Department.

Burks said in his letter that “his former teacher is one of the unheralded heroes of the classroom and is a man who will go that extra mile to see that you succeed even if it means helping you off the clock.”

He said Ricevuto talked him out of quitting college and made him realize that pursuing higher education was the opportunity of a lifetime.

Ricevuto teaches business math and business law. He also coaches wrestling.
