Two Charged With North Side Crimes

A 26-year-old Spokane man and an 18-year-old transient were arrested early Sunday after a string of crimes in north Spokane.

Patrick J. Felsman, 608 S. Century, was booked for intimidation with a weapon, extortion, first-degree burglary and residential burglary, police said. He was being held Sunday night at the Spokane County Jail on a $3,000 bond.

Richard J. Riggs, a transient, was booked for burglary, extortion and for an outstanding warrant. He was being held Sunday at the jail on a $530 bond.

The crimes started about 11 p.m. Saturday, when a handgun was displayed at a home in the 7000 block of North Colton.

A TV and VCR were stolen from a residence in the 5900 block of North Howard about 1 a.m. Sunday.

Felsman and Riggs were arrested after they allegedly tried to force another man to sign over the title of his car to Felsman, police said. They were with the man in his home when police arrived.

Police said they found a pistol on Felsman. They also said they found several stolen items, a rifle, a shotgun and ammunition in Felsman’s car.
