So What Do You Suppose ‘Bridges’ Smell Like?
First came the best-selling book, followed by the feature film starring Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep.
Now get ready for Bridges of Madison County, the odor.
In a novel marketing twist, Warner Bros. has teamed up with a New Jersey perfume company to sell a “Bridges” line of perfume, body lotion and scented candles.
The products are intended to capitalize on the popularity of the story about a roving photographer’s brief affair with an Iowa farm wife, the companies said.
“This is a textbook example of expanding movie licensing into unique and creative categories,” said Michael Peikoff, vice president of property development at Warner Bros. Consumer Products.
The fragrance line goes on sale next Friday.
