Exercise Plan Offered For Pregnant Women
Deaconess Sports Medicine is offering an independent exercise program to meet individual needs of pregnant women. The program, designed by a physical therapist, includes weights, aerobic conditioning, a stationary bicycle, treadmill and pool.

YWCA is No. 1
The Spokane YWCA Water Fitness Program is the best in the state according to the United States Water Fitness Association Inc., Boynton Beach, Fla.
The program was named seventh in the nation.
It was judged on the following criteria: number and variety of classes, instructors’ training, variety of special fitness events, use of professional teaching equipment, number of participants, and having a lifeguard on duty during classes.
Counseling for young people
Greentree Behavorial Health, a division of Spokane Community Health Center, offers group counseling to early and older adolescents.
Participants work on depression, anger management, family conflict and relationship development.
Group sessions for those from 11 to 14 is on Tuesdays, while older adolescents (14-17) meet Wednesdays. Both sessions are from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at 524 W. Sixth.

Free help available
The Inland Northwest Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society offers free counseling, self-help groups, help with medical equipment, information about the disease and referral of specialists to anyone coping with MS.
Professional counselors offer one-to-one counseling, counseling with family members or friends, monthly self-help groups and special programs for those recently diagnosed with the disease.
The chapter also helps people obtain equipment, such as wheelchairs, electric scooters and walkers.
