Sea Lions Gather To Feed On Salmon

From Staff And Wire Reports

The sea lions are coming.

An invasion like the one that has devastated Lake Washington’s wild steelhead run appears imminent below Willamette Falls at Oregon City, state biologists say.

As many as six sea lions at a time were seen this spring feeding on salmon below the falls, said Burnie Bohn, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife harvest manager.

The department videotaped sea lions in the entrance of the fish ladder at the falls and below the falls down to the Interstate 205 bridge.
