Some Like It Rough

Rough stock riders stole the spotlight at the College National Finals Rodeo as Blu Bryant of Hill College and Rusty Allen of Weber State took first go-round leads with outstanding rides.

Bryant marked an 85 in bull riding, while Allen had a 78-point saddle bronc ride.

The first go-round in the rough stock events concludes during Friday’s evening performance at Montana State’s Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.

The second go-round continued in the timed events Wednesday and Nacona Pauley of Miles Community College in Miles City posted a time of 3.5 seconds in breakaway roping to move into the lead in the average - the combined two-round time - at 6.7 seconds.

Bryant, Allen and Pauley were the only new leaders established in either the goround or average standings Wednesday.
