Princess Diana Visiting Russia

Britain’s Princess Diana began her first visit to Russia on Thursday with meetings on charity work and women’s issues, followed by an evening at the Bolshoi Ballet.

On a muggy, rainy day, the Princess of Wales began her two-day visit by meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Yarov and Social Welfare Minister Lyudmila Bezlepkina in the Russian White House, or government building.

Yarov said they discussed the problems of disabled children in Russia, where the 1991 Soviet collapse has led to severe funding shortages.
