Land Owners Seeking Zoning Rule Changes
Three proposed zone changes in the Spokane Valley are on the Spokane County hearing examiner committee’s agenda for Thursday.
The committee, which makes decisions on land-use issues in the unincorporated area, will meet Thursday starting at 9 a.m. in the downstairs meeting room of the county Public Works Building, 1026 W. Broadway.
Valley items on the agenda are:
Sharon Hall will ask for a zoning change on about a half acre she owns in the East Spokane neighborhood.
Hall wants the zoning changed from neighborhood business to urban residential 3.5, which allows for up to 3.5 houses per acre. She plans to put a manufactured home and garage on the lot.
The land is west of Carnahan Street, just south of Sixth Avenue.
Tom and Patricia Caldwell want a zoning change for nearly two acres of land they own north of Sprague Avenue, just east of Adams Road.
The couple want the zoning changed from urban residential 3.5 to regional business, so they can build a fast-food restaurant and some shops on the land.
A Seattle company that wants to build a model home and office on Nora Avenue will ask the committee to change some requirements put on the project by the Planning Department.
The project is on the south side of Nora, west of Mamer Road.
Lindal Cedar Homes doesn’t want to make some improvements to Nora that planners are requesting.
