NEW FACES:
Kristianne Blake has been elected to the board of directors of the Composite Group of Funds. Blake is president of her own Spokane-based accounting firm and a certified financial planner as well as a certified public accountant. Previously she was a partner in the accounting firm of Deloitte Haskins & Sells.
Dan Mathews joined Wendt Advertising as designer/production manager. He is responsible for graphic design and production coordination of projects, as well as helping to develop integrated marketing strategies for the agency’s clients. Mathews has worked as a free-lance artist and art director for several advertising agencies in the Spokane area.
Kiemle & Hagood Co. has added the following people to its staff:
Steve Gill has joined the company as an associate broker specializing in apartment and general commercial investment transactions.
Gary Doerschlag is a sales associate specializing in industrial properties.
Kimberly Floyd was hired as an administrative assistant in the company’s Housing Rehab Division.
Denee Broxton has joined R.W. Robideaux & Co. as an executive assistant in the residential division. Broxton previously was a residential real estate agent with Windemere Real Estate/Manito.
Brent Wilson has been appointed asset and development manager in the Spokane corporate headquarters of Century 21 Randock. Wilson, who earned a master’s degree from Gonzaga University, has 16 years of commercial real estate experience, including stints with ISC Systems Corp., now Olivetti North America; McCarthy Management; and Northwood Properties.
KSPS Public Television has hired the following new employees:
Amanda Livingston is the director of membership. Livingston brings 18 years of experience in broadcasting and not-for-profits, including four years at KTWU Public Television in Topeka, Kan.
Cathie Nichols is the viewer services/event coordinator. Nichols was formerly a promotions/special events coordinator for Nordstrom. She is responsible for viewer and member inquiries and all staff coordination for Friends of Seven activities.
Tudy Gilbert joins member services. Gilbert worked for 21 years as head of billing for ANR Freight.
Kerri Beals also joins member services. Beals will assume full-time duties with the Friends of Seven after serving for several months in a temporary capacity.
Kevin Phipps is a broadcaster operator. A University of Iowa graduate, Phipps previously worked as a studio camera operator at KREM TV and at KAYU TV as a daytime broadcast operator.
Carol J. Hunter has joined the law firm of Feltman, Gebhardt, Eymann & Jones P.S. Hunter is a 1989 graduate of Washington State University who received her law degree in 1992 from the University of Arizona Law School. Her primary focus is elder law, including estate planning, probate and guardianships.
Edith Allard, Frank Vickery and Alison Wolf have joined Century 21 Peoples Choice, 110 W. Crawford, as associates. All three completed an intensive five-day program held at the Century 21 Northwest regional office.
MOVING UP:
Kim Marcus has been appointed a vice president and officer of Dames & Moore, international engineering and environmental consultants. Marcus, who manages operations for Dames & Moore in the Inland Northwest, has 21 years of experience and specializes in geology and hazardous waste management. He received a master’s degree from Western Washington University.
MOVING:
R & R Custom Color Lab, owned by Steve Riffle, has relocated to 1401 N. Calispel. The lab, founded in 1976, offers services ranging from highvolume production prints to mural-size display prints.
STARTING UP:
Resource Computing Inc. has started the ResComp Virus Analysis Service to analyze computer files and identify those that have been infected. The company analyzes all system files and generates a report that identifies any viruses found, their origin and nature, and possible methods of removal.
ELECTED:
James Kalamon has been named to another term as chair of the board of directors of the Inland Automobile Association. Diane Ressler of the Boeing Co., and Richard Rubens of Metallic Arts Inc., were chosen to continue to serve as vice-chairs. Retired banker James Calderhead will continue as treasurer. Stanley Miller was named to a second year as president.
Paul Buller, a professor of management in the Gonzaga University School of Business Administration, was elected to the office of president of the Western Academy of Management.
Moscow-Latah County Economic Development Council Board of Directors has elected the following board members: Mike Thomason the Palouse area manager for Washington Water Power Co.; Byron Dangerfield, dean of the University of Idaho College of Business and Economics; and Shelley Bennett, owner of Bennett & Associates Real Estate. Officers include: Jim Haynes, managing partner and cofounder of Pacific Simulation, vice president; Dave Potter, president and CEO of Concurrent Sciences, secretary; Howard Marquardt, manager of the Moscow branch of First Interstate Bank, treasurer.
Al Berger owner and operator of Cunningham Studio of Quality Photography, has been elected president of the Spokane Professional Photographers Association.
Spokane Sexual Assault Center advisory board has elected Lori Nicol Bingham as president for 1995-1996.
KUDOS:
The Washington Governmental Entity Pool (WGEP) has presented 1994 safety awards to:
Lincoln County, which received the Award for Outstanding Safety Performance. The Board of Commissioners was cited for taking an active role in performing physical inspections, and assuring all departments participate in continued safety training.
Cheney Wastewater and Reclamation Project, which received the Unit Safety Award for superior safety performance during the construction and start-up of Cheney’s new wastewater treatment plant.
MOVING ON:
William R. Goetz, Kootenai Electric’s chief financial officer, has retired after 25 years at the cooperative. Goetz came to KEC in 1970 as a work order clerk. He later served as office manager and controller before being appointed CFO.
Leroy Foster, general manager of Cooperative Supply Inc. in Coeur d’Alene, has retired after 44 years with Cenex. Foster began his co-op career in Alexandria, S.D., and held posts in St. Maries, Idaho, and Ronan, Mont., before moving to Coeur d’Alene. He was inducted into the Idaho Co-op Hall of Fame in the fall of 1988.
TRANSACTIONS:
The Port of Garfield County in Pomeroy, Wash., has been awarded a community Rural Business Enterprise Grant of $50,000. The funds will be used to renovate an existing industrial building to keep a light manufacturing business from leaving the rural area.
Ginno Construction Inc. of Post Falls has been awarded the contract for the addition and alteration of the Post Falls Armory and Organizational Maintenance Shop in Post Falls. The $1.6 million project, owned by the State of Idaho Military Division, is scheduled for a fall completion.
