Olson Wants Extension
Arizona basketball coach Lute Olson, 60, said he would like to sign a five-year contract extension before July 8, when coaches can start watching high school players at all-star camps and make home visits.
Two years ago, Olson had his contract extended for five years. He makes about $137,548 in base salary, and, with other athletic-related income, gets about $512,000 annually.
Arizona athletic director Jim Livengood doesn’t expect the contract extension to be completed until the beginning of the school year.
Las Cruces, N.M. district attorney Greg Valdez says he has appointed a prosecutor and staff to look into allegations of forgery involving Aggies basketball players’ exams in correspondence courses.
