The Arizona Cardinals aren’t leaving the state and have no plans to do so in the foreseeable future, the NFL team’s general counsel said in Phoenix.

St. Louis attorney Thomas Guilfoil told The Arizona Republic the team did not contact the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum commission about possibly playing in that stadium. That was reported Saturday after the Raiders announced they were returning to Oakland after 13 years in Southern California.

The Cardinals play in Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, where next season’s Super Bowl will be held.

Sandpit, assuming control around the final turn, withstood the charge of Celtic Arms to capture the $500,000 Grade I Caesars International Handicap by three-quarters of a length at Atlantic City Race Course.

The 6-year-old winner was ridden by Corey Nakatani while completing 1-3/16 miles in 1:57-4/5. He paid $9.40. Celtic Arms finished second. Alice Springs ran third.
