Activist Gored While Videotaping Bull-Running

Compiled From Wire Services

A leading British animal rights campaigner was in intensive care in a Spanish hospital Monday after being badly gored by a bull during a small town festival.

Vicki Moore, 39, of Southport, England, was repeatedly gored by a bull Sunday as she was making a videotape of bull-running in Coria, 150 miles southwest of Madrid.

In dozens of town festivals around Spain each summer, bulls or young cows are set loose to run through cordoned-off streets for several minutes while dozens of people run ahead of them and try to avoid being tossed by the beast.
