Area Radio, TV Stations Have All 26 Games Covered
Nobody is telling people to avoid State B Tournament venues this week.
But it’s possible to follow each game without entering the Coliseum or Spokane Falls Community College.
Local radio stations will broadcast each of the 26 boys and girls games.
KHQ-TV, channel 6, will televise live both championship games Saturday.
Radio coverage of the boys tournament will be divided among KXLY-AM 920, KJRB-AM 790 and KGA-AM 1510. KXLY will broadcast the first three games on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. KJRB will carry the 1:30 and 5 p.m. games on Wednesday and Thursday, the 3 p.m. game on Friday and every placing game on Saturday except for the final. The final three games on Wednesday and Thursday, the final two on Friday, and Saturday’s championship belong to KGA.
KTRW-AM 970, KSBN-AM 1230 and KJRB will split the girls tournament. KTRW will broadcast the first four games on Wednesday and Thursday, and every game except the 3 p.m. game on Friday. KSBN is assigned the final four games on Wednesday and Thursday, the 3 p.m. game on Friday and each placing game on Saturday except the championship. The title game will be covered by KJRB.
Dick Wright, Paul Seebeck, Chuck DeBruin, Larry Weir, Eric Carpenter and Paul Sorensen will provide play-by-play and commentary during girls games.
Dan Kleckner will announce play-by-play and Ty Ray will handle color commentary for KHQ-TV.
KHQ will also have hourly live tournament updates from both sites.KXLY-TV will broadcast State B highlights each of the four nights, at 11:17, on Sports Extra.
