Mullin’s Prognosis Good

Compiled From Wire Services

A blackout and seizure by Golden State Warriors star Chris Mullin was caused by an abnormal condition that cuts the amount of blood flowing to his brain, but it should not threaten his NBA career.

Test results indicated Mullin, 31, has a condition called vaso-vagal syncope.

“Vaso-vagal syncope can be an indication of some very serious neurological or cardiovascular problems,” said Kate O’Connor, administrator at the Cardiovascular Consultants Medical Group in Oakland, where the tests were done. “But it is also very common in young, healthy people with low blood pressure. Chris passed all his brain-scan and heart tests with flying colors.”
