Hampton Jazz Festival Area Winners Announced
The names of Eastern Washington and North Idaho students and groups honored after competition at the 1995 University of Idaho Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival have been announced by festival officials.
Washington honorees by division include:
COLLEGE DAY
Columbia Basin Community College (Pasco) directed by Dave Cazier, outstanding guest vocal ensemble and outstanding community college vocal ensemble.
Washington State University, directed by Greg Yasinitsky, outstanding guest college instrumental ensemble.
WSU Combo I, directed by Yasinitsky, instrumental combo winner.
Amy Gidlof, WSU, vocal soloist runner-up, and Matt Wright, WSU, vocal soloist runnerup.
Angela Davis, vocal soloist winner, open division.
Ben Graves, WSU, instrumental soloist runner-up; outstanding alto saxophonist, solo division.
