Steffi Graf, displaying no signs of her recent back problems, continued her mastery over German compatriot Anke Huber to advance 6-4, 6-4 to the finals of the Delray Beach Winter Championships in Delray, Fla.

Graf today will play the second seed, Conchita Martinez of Spain, who won by injury default over fourth-seeded Brenda Schultz in the other semifinal.

Pete Sampras overcame bad luck in a second-set tiebreaker and then listened to his own lecture on a changeover to advance to today’s quarterfinals of the Newsweek Champions Cup in Indian Wells, Calif.

The top-seeded Sampras defeated No. 15 Patrick Rafter of Australia 6-4, 6-7 (8-10), 6-1 and will play No. 8 Todd Martin today. Martin also needed three sets to get by David Wheaton 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 7-5.
