Intercultural Adoptions Will Be Topic
The Adoption Resource Center at the Children’s Home Society of Washington will offer a workshop on intercultural adoption Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Children’s Home Society of Washington, 4315 S. Scott, in Spokane.
Topics covered at “Intercultural Adoption: The Joys and Challenges of Being an Interracial Family” will include discovering your child’s world view, bonding, helping your child develop a healthy identity, and learning about the challenges of living as a multicultural family.
The program will be facilitated by Jan Bowes-Martinez, a therapist and intercultural adoptive parent.

The cost is $50 per couple or $30 for an individual, but services will not be denied for financial reasons.
Beverages will be provided, but participants are asked to bring their own sack lunches.
