West Valley High Picks Lilac Princess

A West Valley High School student was picked as the seventh of 12 Lilac Festival princesses Monday night.

Michele Weinman, 18, is a captain of the senior varsity cheerleading squad and a student body officer. She is the daughter of Arnold and Kathleen Weinman.

Weinman is a member of the National Honor Society, co-president of the Spanish Club and a peer adviser. She enjoys skiing, jogging and reading.

She plans to study TV broadcasting and communications at Washington State University.

One of the 12 Spokane-area Lilac princesses will be chosen as queen April 22 at Ferris High School.

The queen will ride in the Lilac Festival Torchlight Parade on May 20, along with the princesses.
