Rezone Asked For Car Wash In/Around: Hillyard
The city hearing examiner is scheduled to hear on Tuesday a proposal by a Boise developer who wants to operate a car wash in the Market-Haven corridor between Nebraska and Joseph.
The plan would require a rezone to allow a business on land zoned multifamily since 1958.
“The subsequent increase in traffic over the last 20 years has subsequently degraded the attractiveness of the area for residential development,” developer Harry Adams said in his comments to the city.
The hearing is set for 9 a.m. Tuesday at City Hall.
The car wash would have six selfservice bays and one automatic bay. With the traffic count on Market and Haven at 13,000 vehicles a day, the car wash would attract 150 to 200 vehicles, according the Adams.
The site is currently vacant.
