Local Military People Receive Promotions

The following local military persons have been promoted to their present ranks:

Pfc. Benjamin Odum, son of Philip and Karen Odum, Cheney, is stationed with the Army at Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii. He is a 1992 graduate of Cheney High School.

Specialist Shannon Tefft, daughter of Lurene and Perry Tefft, Post Falls, is stationed with the Army at Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii. She is a 1990 graduate of Post Falls High School.

Airman Petra Webb, daughter of Connie MacKay, Great Falls, Mont., and retired Lt. Col. Curtis Bartz, Medical Lake, is stationed with the Air Force at Altus Air Force Base, Okla.

Airman 1st Class Jordan Gross, son of Karen Johnson, Spokane, is stationed with the Air Force at Kunsan Air Base, Kunsan City, South Korea. He is a 1993 graduate of Rogers High School.

Lance Cpl. Michael Wood, son of Robert and Susan Wood, Clarkston, Wash., is stationed with the Marine Corps in Keflavik, Iceland. He is a 1992 graduate of Clarkston High School.

Pfc. Stephanie Rice, daughter of Dennis and Anne Moore, Spokane, and Ronald Rice, is stationed with the Army at Suwon Air Base, South Korea. She is a 1993 graduate of Central Valley High School.

Sgt. Ryan Jones, son of Bill and Carol McCarty, Coeur d’Alene, and Keith and Delaine Jones, Hayden Lake, Idaho, is stationed with the Marine Corps in Boise. He is a 1990 graduate of Coeur d’Alene High School.

Pfc. Cecil Bridges, son of Mark and Gladys Graves, Elk, is stationed with the Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, N.C. He is a 1994 graduate of Riverside High School, Chattaroy.

Gunnery Sgt. Eugene Griffith, son of Daniel and Shirley Griffith, Spokane, is stationed with the Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, Calif. He is a 1980 graduate of Newport High School, Newport, Wash.

First Lt. Eugenia Howe, is stationed with the Army in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and on temporary duty in Saudi Arabia. She is a 1988 graduate of Ferris High School and a 1992 graduate of the University of Idaho.

Lance Cpl. Lyle Martin, son of Harvey and Gail Martin, Sagle, Idaho, is stationed with the Marine Corps in Okinawa, Japan. He is a 1992 graduate of Lewiston High School.

Gunnery Sgt. Larry Iverson, son of Vonnie Iverson, Spokane, is stationed with the Marine Corps in Yuma, Ariz.

Staff Sgt. William “Skip” Mace Jr., son of Reva Clements and William Mace, Redmond, Wash., recently was awarded a Commendation Medal for three years of meritorious service in the 654th Medical Group. He was also named Noncommissioned Officer of the Year for Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, Okla., and received the achievement award for specific actions during an assignment at Robins Air Force Base, Ga. He was commended for saving the Air Force $8,000 in contracting costs by personally installing a computer dental treatment system for the base.
