Man In Stable Condition With 20 Stab Wounds
A man who was stabbed about 20 times Monday evening was listed in guarded but stable condition at Holy Family Hospital.
Police had not made any arrests and had not released the victim’s name late Monday.
The 34-year-old man was stabbed “from behind with some type of knife,” said Sgt. Wally Cusick of the Spokane Police Department. Before the man was stabbed, he was seen leaving a home at E118 Sanson with two or three unidentified men.
Police have no motive and do not know the relationship between the men and the North Side woman who lives in the home, said Dick Cottam, public information officer.
The victim apparently knows who the suspects are, and detectives will question him today, Cusick said.
The woman who lives at the house said the men left through the back door and got into a car parked at the rear of the home, according to a police statement.
A few minutes later one of the men knocked on the back door. When she answered the door, the bleeding man stumbled into the house and collapsed.
She called the police, and an ambulance took the man to Holy Family, where he was immediately taken into surgery.
