Tektronix Acquisition Will Boost Production

Tektronix Inc. stands to improve its production of high-speed transmission test equipment through an agreement to acquire Microwave Logic Inc. company officials announced today.

Tektronix, a leading developer of cable and video signal analysis, will acquire the Chelmsford, Mass.based Microwave Logic in a deal set to close March 31.

Microwave Logic, which posted $8.3 million in revenues in fiscal 1994, designs and manufactures products used to measure and analyze high-performance transmission systems.

“Communications testing is a critical technology in the creation of the information superhighway and in its ongoing global functionality,” Measurement Business Division President Dan Terpack said. “Bringing Microwave Logic into the Tektronix fold is part of our strategy to be a major player in this emerging and promising marketplace.”
