Compiled From Wire Services

As expected, Pro Bowler Andre Rison signed a $17 million, 5-year deal with the Cleveland Browns, making him the highest-paid receiver in NFL history.

Rison has 475 career receptions, the second-highest total in NFL history for six years. He said he was determined to find a team that could reach the Super Bowl.

“I figured my best opportunity was here in Cleveland. I’m trying to win a championship,” said Rison, who had 81 catches last season for 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns with Atlanta.

Unrestricted free agent safety Kenneth Gant, who won two Super Bowl rings with the Dallas Cowboys, signed a three-year contract with Tampa Bay.
