Wwii Stories Sought

If you remember when the Kaiser Aluminum plants belonged to the War Department and Fairchild Air Force Base was called Galena, you probably remember where you were when …

You found out the fighting in Germany was over.

You didn’t know what an atomic bomb was, but heard one had been dropped on Hiroshima.

You celebrated V-J Day.

The Spokesman-Review is preparing stories to mark the 50th anniversaries of the end of World War II and would like to hear again from its readers. If you have a story about those key dates in 1945 - and how they changed your life over the last 50 years - we’d like to hear from you.

Call Cityline at 458-8800 in Washington or 765-8811 in Idaho on a touch-tone phone, then press 9666 and leave your name, daytime phone number and a message of up to two minutes on the recording. Reporters will be contacting as many callers as possible in the coming weeks as they prepare stories.
