Sweden and Finland, co-favorites for the title, won by lopsided margins in the quarterfinals of the World Hockey Championships.

Andreas Dackell had two goals and two assists, leading Olympic champion Sweden to a 7-0 rout of Italy. Finland blanked France 5-0.

Sweden will meet the winner of today’s game between the United States and Canada in the semifinals. Finland faces the winner of today’s other quarterfinal, between Russia and the Czech Republic.
