Crafts Sought For Aids Network Fair

The Spokane AIDS Network is currently looking for craft vendors to exhibit their wares at the organization’s craft fair. The fair is part of the group’s annual Walk of Life, happening June 10 in Coeur d’Alene Park in Browne’s Addition.

Vendors can choose to sell or just display their work at the event.

If interested, call Peggy Johnson at 467-5609. The cost is $25 for a table. Deadline is May 15.

“For the Birds”

The Entree Gallery in Nordman, Idaho is celebrating spring and welcoming back the birds with a multi-media exhibit entitled “For the Birds,” happening now through May 31.

The display ranges from bird sculptures to hand crafted birdhouses. Styles also vary.

All items have been hand-crafted by regional artists.

“Art by the River”

The St. Maries Council for the Arts in St. Maries, Idaho, is currently accepting art and applications for booth spaces for its “Art by the River” festival happening July 15 and 16.

All juried art must be submitted by July 8. The deadline for applying for booth space is June 3.

Juried art show

The Carnegie Art Center in Walla Walla hosts its annual, regional juried art show today through June 10.

Artists from Washington, Idaho and Oregon will be participating in the multi-media exhibit.

Calling photographers

All photographers wishing to have their work exhibited at the Eastern Washington University Photography Gallery during the 1995/1996 season, listen up. Any interested shutterbugs need to send slides and proposals to the EWU Gallery Program for review.

Send 10-20 slides of current work, a resume and a self-addressed-stamped envelope to: Richard Twedt, Director of University Galleries, Department of Art, MS-102, 526 5th St., Eastern Washington University, Cheney, WA 99004-2431.

The deadline for submissions is June 2.

EWU exhibits

Eastern Washington University will be presenting four exhibitions during the month of May.

The Gallery of Art in the EWU Art Building will present its annual student juried art exhibition May 5 through June 9.

The Gallery of Photography, also in the Art Building, will hold an exhibit entitled “A Personal Mythology” featuring the photography of Louise Roach, May 3 through May 31.

The EWU Spokane Center Gallery, 705 W. First, will put the Anne Harder/MacKenzie Wyatt collection - “Modern American Masters” - on permanent display. The exhibit features original prints from James Dine, Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Wayne Theibaud, Ed Ruscha, Sam Francis, Frank Stella, Claes Oldenburg and Sol Lewitt.

The Pub Gallery in the Pence Union Building will show Marla Leander’s thesis paintings through May 12. Then, from May 17 through June 2, Sotudeh Mohajerin’s thesis work will be on display.

“Art in the Park”

“Art in the Park,” Omak’s annual outdoor art festival, happens June 24-25.

The event’s sponsor, the Kiwanis Club, is currently accepting applications for booth space.
