Show Your Parents What It’s Really Like

Beth Raddatz, Homeschooled, And

How many times do you tell your parents being a teenager today is very different from when they were young? Well, now you can show them.

Two teen groups sponsored by the Spokane County Health District - PACE (Peers Advocating Communication and Empowerment) and YAK (Youth Awareness Korp) - are putting on a play called “Growing Up is Hard to Do” at 7 p.m. on May 16 at the North Central High School auditorium.

This performance is aimed not only at the parent but at the teen as well. It hits on some very hard issues of today, such as suicide, teen pregnancy, drugs and much more.

This play is especially recommended to eighth-graders because it will give them some insight into what high school is really like. Dial 448-2678 and ask for Beth if you have any questions.

Who could forget Pizza Boy? Remember Dave Kowal and his Dad? They were the duo who trekked cross country on their bicycles - from Spokane to Maine. Their journey was recorded in Our Generation last summer.

Now you can join them as they share their unforgettable trip with their Cross Country Bike Trip Slide Show at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Mead High School Auditorium.

Cost is $2, which will go toward the Washington Cultural Exchange Scholarship Program. Seating is limited to 500, so make sure to go early!<
