Builders, Realtors Push Huge Project
Builders and Realtors on Friday showed off the largest subdivision ever planned in Kootenai County.
Coeur d’Alene Place is a 640-acre site that eventually will contain 2,000 homes and several apartment buildings.
It’ll take 17 years to build the project, said Jean DeBarbieris, associate planner for the city. It is coming on line at a time when Kootenai County’s real estate market is cooling.
Homes in Coeur d’Alene Place will be built around parks, open spaces and a community center.
The giant subdivision surrounds the new Lake City High School on Ramsey Road at Dalton Avenue. Two areas of the development are under construction and several homes already have sold, said Patricia Lozano, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker/Schneidmiller Realty.
Realtors say too many homes are on the Kootenai County market now. Unless countywide sales pick up, development at Coeur d’Alene Place could be slower than expected.
Home prices in the subdivision will range from $85,000 to more than $200,000.
