In A Twist, Child’s Prank May Have Saved Lives

Compiled From Wire Services

Mischief sometimes works magic.

Two-year-old Kolby Grinston set off a fire alarm at his nursery school Friday and marched out with his classmates as they had been trained to do.

Moments later, a car ran a nearby red light and struck a second car, which smashed into the Kiddie Kove Nursery as the children stood outside. The car plowed through a play kitchen and came to a stop atop several lockers used by the youngsters.

The school’s director, Olivia Hargon, said the children would have been at the lockers putting away their jackets if Kolby hadn’t pulled the alarm.
