Did Gramm Invest In ‘X’ Films?
A report to be published today alleges that Sen. Phil Gramm knowingly invested in two R- or X-rated movies as a college professor in 1974, an allegation the Texas Republican disputes.
The New Republic, a weekly Washington-based political and arts magazine, reports that Gramm invested $15,000 with his then brother-in-law George Caton, a former lawyer and film producer.
The film for which the investment initially was intended never was made. The investment then was transferred to a second film, the magazine said.
