One hundred years ago, just four students received diplomas at the University of Idaho’s first graduation.

On Saturday, some 2,000 graduates participated in university’s centennial commencement exercise.

The ceremony was marked by farewell comments from departing University of Idaho President Elisabeth Zinser.

Zinser, who has been hired as chancellor at the University of Kentucky, encouraged the graduates to take risks and seek adventure beyond their days in college. Zinser has been president for six years.
