Kenyan Ismael Kirui won the 84th annual Bay to Breakers for the third straight year, while fellow Kenyan Delillah Asiago set a women’s course record in the 12-kilometer footrace known for its carnival-like atmosphere.

Kirui was victorious with his time of 33 minutes 58 seconds. Two-time Bloomsday champion Josephat Muchuka was second at 34:01.

Asiago, 23, set a world-best time of 38:19 at the 12K Bloomsday race two weeks ago. Her time in Sunday’s race was 38:23, beating the women’s course record of 38:26 set in 1991 by Kenyan Susan Sirma.
