Area Students Qualify For Ewu’s Dean’s List
The following students qualified for the Eastern Washington University Dean’s List for winter quarter 1995. A student must carry at least 12 credits and achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or above:

Barbara Wands-Pierce, daughter of Margaret and Richard Wands, Benton City, Wash., was selected as one of the 60 teachers in the United States to receive a scholarship to the National Geographic Society’s International Leadership Institute. During her four weeks in Washington, D.C., she will study geography and receive training from diplomats from all over the world. WandsPierce is currently a middle school teacher for the Pasco School District.
Marine 2nd Lt. Tad Finer, son of Gary and Anne Finer, Spokane, will be promoted to the rank of first lieutenant. Finer is a 1989 graduate of Lewis and Clark High School and a 1993 graduate of the University of Idaho.
