Host Families Needed For Japanese Visitors

The Community Colleges of Spokane need local families willing to host Japanese visitors this summer.

The first group of visitors includes seven housewives, two office workers and a college student. They will stay in local homes from June 30 to July 3, and again July 7 and 8. The second group, participants in an intensive English training program, will stay at Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute from July 23 through Aug. 17. Host families are asked to provide accommodations July 28-30.

Community college instructor Akira Yoshida says home stays usually are the highlight of Japanese students’ Spokane experience.

Those willing to spend time with foreign guests can contact Yoshida at 536-2159 or Jan Carpenter at 533-8092.
