Vandals Lose To Hungarian Team

The Idaho Vandals met up with a much taller and much more experienced team in the second game of their two-week trip to Europe as the Vandals lost to the Hungarian 22-and-over national team 89-79 in Hodmezovasarhely, Hungary.

Vandal power forward Harry Harrison led the Vandals with 27 points and 12 rebounds despite playing against a starting frontcourt that featured a center at 7 feet, and power forwards at 6-10 and 6-9.

“At times they had two 7-footers in the game,” said coach Joe Cravens. “They hurt us on some things we weren’t prepared for. Now that we have a scouting report we should have a better chance to beat them.”

Idaho shot only 30 percent from the field while the Hungarians shot nearly 60 percent. Nate Gardner had 14 points and eight rebounds while James Jones chipped in with 11.
