Beneath It All, Clinton Is A Woman To Look Up To
Calvin Klein is still under fire for his company’s use of sex to sell underwear. But he now has a competitor.
Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Actually, the First Lady is not featured in an underwear ad by choice. A photo of her is being used by a Brazilian company to sell its line of undergarments.
The ad, for Duloren lingerie, features a photograph of Clinton that was taken during a recent trip to Brazil. In the photo, part of her underwear can be seen through a tight skirt.
“We’re trying to take advantage of Hillary’s image among Brazilian women, which is an extremely positive one,” said ad designer Silvio Matos. “We weren’t the ones who took the picture. We just added a phrase and made it into a tribute.”
Loose talk
Paula Barbieri on her breakup with O.J. Simpson (on “PrimeTime Live” with Diane Sawyer): “Maybe my soul mate’s out there right now, watching…. And when people ask me how’s O.J., don’t ask, because I won’t know.”
Tomorrow, tomorrow, she’ll celebrate tomorrow…
Andrea McArdle turns 32 today.
Sure sounds like a Woody Allen film to us
Robert De Niro and Toukie Smith are the parents of twin boys, born Oct. 20. But there are complications. According to a statement, “the children were conceived with the assistance of modern fertility techniques and were carried to term and delivered by a surrogate.” The two vow to share parenting chores, even though - and here’s the clincher - they no longer are involved romantically.
Are Michael and Janet Jackson somehow involved?
The newest romantic linking to come out of the O.J. Simpson trial? Believe it or not, one report pairs prosecutor Christopher Darden with Anita Hill, she of Clarence Thomas infamy.
If he were bleeding, Hollywood would be interested
Seen those Calvin Klein ads featuring a pectoral-enhanced hunk dressed in a simple pair of jockey shorts? Well, Donald Wildmon of the American Family Association has, and his opinion is clear. “This is nothing more than pornography,” Wildmon said.
OK, it’s possible, but what’s the point?
Maybe it is possible for former lovers to be friends. One-time honeys Lyle Lovett and Julia Roberts shared time together last week celebrating their respective birthdays (Saturday for her, Wednesday for him).
It sounds like a scene from a bad movie
Here’s more on that lawsuit charging Charlie Sheen with beating a woman. R. Kateri Foos alleges that Sheen, after picking her up at a restaurant and taking her home, “became enraged and struck (Foos) repeatedly in the head and face for her refusal,” then “threatened to kill” Foos if she reported the attack. Sheen’s publicist, Jeff Ballard, dismissed the lawsuit, calling it “just another low-life attempt to extort money from a celebrity.”
