Compiled From Wire Services

Lisa Leslie scored 20 points as the U.S. national team shook off a pesky Connecticut start and easily defeated the NCAA women’s champions 83-47 in an exhibition game.

The game was the second of a 20-game tour for the USA team as it prepares for next summer’s Olympics and also marked the homecoming of former UConn star Rebecca Lobo, one of the school’s most celebrated athletes.

Katrina McClain finished with 13 points and eight rebounds and Lobo had eight points for the USA team. Jamelle Elliott led Connecticut with 13 points and seven rebounds before fouling out.
