Leeb Strikes As Chiefs Fall Two Goals By Winger Not Enough As Prince Albert Prevails 4-2

Greg Leeb continues to run hot, but you can’t say the same for the Spokane Chiefs.

Leeb, the Chiefs’ 5-foot-9 left-winger, followed his first Western Hockey League hat trick on Saturday with a two-goal effort Monday in the Comuniplex, but the rest of his teammates were blanked.

The result was a 4-2 Spokane loss to the Prince Albert Raiders in the start of a five-game Eastern road trip.

Spokane, which visits Saskatoon on Wednesday, has lost three of its last four games to slip to 11-5 after a 10-2 start.

Leeb’s goals both came on power plays, giving Spokane a 2-0 lead less than 2 minutes into the second period.

The first was at 3:38 of the first period, a one-timer on a feed from Randy Favaro. The second was 1:18 into the second period when he tipped home a Sean Gillam pass.

But that was to be all the offense the Chiefs could muster while the Raiders (10-6-1) took charge.
