Minera Andes, Scotia Merge Operations

Minera Andes Inc., a mining development arm of Spokane’s N.A. Degerstrom Inc., has merged with Scotia Prime Minerals Inc. to extend its reach in Argentina.

The new company also will be called Minera Andes Inc., with holders of Scotia stock receiving one new share of Minera for every 15 shares of Scotia stock they held.

Through its subsidiaries, Minera controls about 1 million acres in Argentina. The lands encompass 62 properties with precious metals, and the company continues to develop the properties aggressively and find more metals.

N.A. Degerstrom is a mining contractor/engineering firm in Spokane with 350 employees. The company will provide resources to Minera as it continues to grow and develop mining properties, the company said in a release.
