Signa Thompson Spokane

Signa (Forstrom) Thompson, Spokane, is 100 years old today. Born Nov. 10, 1895, in Sand Coulee, Mont., she has been a resident of Eastern Washington for 73 years; she moved to Spokane a year ago.

In 1920, she married Bob Thompson who died in 1962.

They had five children: Eunice Bafus and Edna Rice, both of Spokane; Ralph Thompson and Norma Smith, both of Oregon; and Elsie Butterfield of Idaho.

Mrs. Thompson, who was a fulltime housewife, has 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

When asked to what she attributes her longevity, she replied, “no smoking, no drinking, and hard work on the farm.”
