Notable

Dennis Erickson coached against Tom Coughlin twice when the two coaches were at Miami and Boston College, respectively. Erickson’s Miami clubs won both times.

These two teams are tied for the NFL low with only five interceptions in nine games.

Jacksonville’s offense is 29th in the NFL and has surrendered a league-high 38 sacks. Seattle’s rushing attack is ranked fourth in the league.

Jacksonville is coming off a bye week.

Central Valley High and University of Idaho product Mike Hollis has made nine of 12 field goals for the Jaguars. Former Washington State Cougar Ray Hall is a backup defensive tackle for the Jags.

The teams have had one common opponent - Cincinnati. Seattle topped the Bengals by three points in the third week, while Jacksonville lost to them by seven in the second week.

Analysis

At the start of the season, this was probably viewed as an automatic win. Nobody is going to be quite so quick to pencil in that “W” now.

Even if Chris Warren is slowed or sidelined with his sore ankle, the Hawks should be able to rush effectively against Jacksonville.

Seattle’s offense has been sharp enough to win against this caliber of team, with the only real problem being turnovers.

And Jacksonville doesn’t force many turnovers.
