Kaiser Gives $5,000 To Training Program

From Staff And Wire Reports

An on-site computer training program offered by Spokane Community Colleges so impressed Kaiser Aluminum Corp. that the company has donated $5,000 to the program.

The college’s mobile training unit offers on-site computer training to companies throughout the region. During a seven-week period, 125 Kaiser employees received training through the unit.

“Instruction offered through the mobile training unit is helping to improve the capabilities of Kaiser’s work force,” Kaiser spokesman Ken Pegg said in a news release. “The community colleges have gone so far as to staff the mobile training unit during graveyard shift, so our employees could take a course without altering their work schedules.”

Kaiser’s donation will be used to purchase computer memory chips and a color overhead projection panel.
