Lindros Joins Flyers Again, Scores Twice

Associated Press

NHL

Eric Lindros celebrated his return to the Flyers with two goals, and Rod Brind’Amour added four assists as Philadelphia defeated the slumping Ottawa Senators 5-3 Thursday night at Philadelphia.

Philadelphia, just 2-4-1 while Lindros was out with a sprained left knee, scored three goals in just 3 minutes in the final period to rally for the victory. Ottawa lost its sixth straight.

At 5:06 of the third, Lindros tapped in a rebound for his 13th goal and a 4-3 lead. Just 53 seconds later, Karl Dykhuis floated a wrist shot from the left point that sneaked past goalie Mike Bales, who then was pulled for Don Beaupre.

Russ Romaniuk’s second goal of the season had given the Flyers a 3-3 tie.
