Cavs Get In Win Column, Beat 76ers

The Cleveland Cavaliers, winless in their first seven games, took out their frustrations on the host Philadelphia 76ers Friday night.

Dan Majerle broke out of his shooting slump with 21 points and Terrell Brandon added 19 along with eight rebounds as Cleveland routed Philadelphia.

“It’s been totally frustrating for all of us,” said Majerle, who went 8 for 12, including 5 of 8 from 3-point range. “Now we’ve got to go home and build on this.”

Damon Stoudamire had 20 points and 13 assists as Toronto snapped a seven-game losing streak over Minnesota.

An 8-2 Minnesota run to start the game seemed to give the Raptors a wakeup call. Toronto then scored the next 14 straight points en route to a 25-14 lead after one quarter and a 60-42 lead at the half.
