Compiled From Wire Services

Seattle Mariners center fielder Ken Griffey Jr. received his sixth straight Gold Glove on Monday while California Angels pitcher Mark Langston and Toronto outfielder Devon White won their seventh awards.

Angels first baseman J.T. Snow was the only first-time winner among the American League selections.

Roberto Alomar, who played for Toronto last season and became a free agent, won his fifth consecutive Gold Glove and Texas catcher Ivan Rodriguez won his fourth straight.

Two Cleveland Indians won for the third straight year: outfielder Kenny Lofton and shortstop Omar Vizquel.

New York Yankees third baseman Wade Boggs won for the second consecutive year.

The awards are voted on by major league managers and coaches and presented by Rawlings.

Seattle left-handed pitcher Randy Johnson and designated hitter Edgar Martinez were selected to The Associated Press baseball all-star team.

Atlanta right-hander Greg Maddux and Cleveland reliever Jose Mesa joined Johnson as pitching selections.

Cleveland’s Albert Belle, Colorado’s Dante Bichette and San Diego’s Tony Gwynn were voted the team’s outfielders.

Boston first baseman Mo Vaughn, Houston second baseman Craig Biggio, Colorado third baseman Vinny Castilla and Los Angeles catcher Mike Piazza rounded out the squad.
