Bosnia Accord Gives Dollar A Boost
The dollar got a marginal boost after the Bosnia peace agreement was announced Tuesday, though it relinquished some gains to end mixed in thin pre-holiday trading.
Traders said the currency market was subdued, in contrast to the euphoria on Wall Street as the Dow Jones industrial average closed above 5,000 for the first time ever.
At about 1 p.m. PST the dollar traded at 101.47 Japanese yen, up from 101.35 yen at the same time Monday. The dollar also traded at 1.4076 marks, up from 1.4067 at the same time Monday.
