Worley Man Held After Son Hurt
Kootenai County Sheriff’s officials arrested a Worley man Wednesday on charges he injured his 4-month-old son.
Brian L. Hanson Sr., 32, is being held at Kootenai County Jail, charged with felony injury to a child.
Hanson’s son, Brian Hanson Jr., was admitted to Sacred Heart Medical Center Monday suffering from severe bruising and swelling around both ears, said Capt. Ben Wolfinger.
The mother, Kimberly N. Brown, had been working Sunday night and left the boy with his father, Wolfinger said.
The mother brought the child to the hospital the next morning after noticing the bruising on his ears.
Medical personnel at the hospital then called the sheriff’s department, Wolfinger said.
Detectives don’t believe the injuries could have been caused by an accident. “The investigation showed that during the time the child was injured (the father) was the only person with the child,” Wolfinger said.
Detectives arrested Hanson Wednesday.
“He said he didn’t know anything about it and didn’t know how it happened,” Wolfinger said. “He basically denied any involvement.”
Wolfinger said the child was released from the hospital on Tuesday.
“What could a 4-month-old do to warrant such abuse?” Wolfinger said. , DataTimes
