Tacoma Man Shot Before Crashing His Car Into Tree

A 24-year-old man crashed his car into a tree across the street from a hospital, where he later died. Police said he had been shot.

The Parkland man died at St. Joseph Medical Center on Friday, police spokesman Jim Mattheis said.

A witness told police he had seen the man driving his Jeep behind a Chevrolet Caprice.

Both cars were headed south when shots were fired from the Chevrolet at the Jeep, Mattheis said.
