Bevell’s Condition Upgraded
Wisconsin quarterback Darrell Bevell’s condition was upgraded to fair as he remained hospitalized with injuries sustained in Saturday’s game with Illinois.
The university announced that Bevell, a fifth-year senior who set 17 school passing records, had bruised a kidney. He was moved out of the intensive care unit at University Hospital on Sunday morning.
Bevell played most of the 3-3 tie even though he was shaken up early when he took a shot to the ribs and he took a pounding the rest of the way from the Illini defense.
He was then taken to the hospital, where X-rays were negative.
